The IOTV Gen III Ballistic Shoulder Pads provide additional armor protection against bullets and shrapnel in the event of an explosion. These are two soft and lightweight shoulder pads made of Kevlar multi-layer para-aramid fiber, providing maximum protection and comfort to the wearer.
The shoulder protection module is specially designed to provide a snug and ergonomic fit to the shoulders, minimizing movement restrictions and maximizing comfort. This is further aided by adjustable straps and retainers that allow it to adapt to different shoulder area sizes.
Adding deltoid muscle protection elements to the vest increases the overall body protection area. The deltoid muscle is a large muscle in the shoulder that is involved in arm movements. It is located from the collarbone to the humerus and has a fairly large muscle mass. When this muscle is injured, serious complications such as restricted movement, bleeding, and infection can occur.
The outer pouch serves as an ideal carrier for ballistic pouches. It is sewn from heavy-duty and abrasion-resistant Cordura nylon fabric, which has a flame- and water-repellent impregnation. It is attached to the vest (plate carrier), clothing, or other equipment elements with Velcro and/or Molle system.
Thanks to camouflage coloring ballistic shoulder pads can serve as a separate or additional element of body protection, perfectly fitting into the general pattern of the outfit and not violating camouflage properties. Velcro panels allow you to attach patches and additional light equipment over the protection.
