Lenses of different colours — why are they needed?

UV protection is not the only function of ballistic glasses. When choosing glasses, you should pay attention to the colour of the lenses and their purpose, because the speed of adaptation on the ground in different lighting conditions depends on it.

• Clear lenses. Provide 100% protection from UV rays and allow maximum light transmission indoors or at night.
• Smoky lenses. Useful in sunny weather, when bright glare dazzles and makes you squint. They increase visual clarity, but are not suitable for the dark.
• Yellow lenses. Relevant for wearing in fog, twilight or cloudy weather. They absorb blue and violet colours, improve contrast and depth of perception. In addition, such lenses reduce stress on the visual apparatus.
• Red lenses. Lenses of red colour and its shades (amber, copper, bronze, etc.) have similar properties to yellow ones. They further block blue light and improve contrast. These dark lenses help you see small objects better in grass, leaves, or other unclear surfaces.

Photochromic lenses adapted to light should be taken out separately — depending on the lighting, initially light lenses darken, or, conversely, become lighter in cloudy weather.
