The Mk 7 is the main helmet of the British Army manufactured by NP Aerospace. This helmet is currently replacing the Mk 6A and Mk 6 introduced in 2005 and 1982. The British military have used these helmets while serving in Afghanistan (since 2001).

The Mk 7 helmet came into use in June 2009. The new helmet offers the same level of ballistic protection as the Mk6A helmet, but its new shape allows the soldier to lie down and shoot accurately, while the rear edge does not snag on the armor and the front edge does not cover the eyes.

The Mk 7 is lighter in weight than its predecessor and weighs 1.5 kg. It also has a better chin attachment. Produced in a new yellow-brown color, unlike the black Mk 6A and olive Mk 6.

The surface of the helmet is covered with a polyurethane wear-resistant waterproof compound.

Ballistic protection class IIIA.

Weight: 1.37 kg
